Hampshire Hosts First Ever Disabled Golf Championships at Paultons GC

(L-R) Ryan Archer (Boundary Lakes), Joanna Cook (Hampshire Golf), Adam Dalton (Royal Jersey)

The event, delivered in partnership with EDGA and their renowned Presidents Cup, brought together an outstanding field of talented golfers from across Europe. Over 36 competitive holes, players demonstrated incredible skill, determination, and passion for the game – inspiring all who came to watch.

From the very first tee shot to the final putt, the championship was a celebration of inclusivity, resilience, and the unifying power of golf. For Hampshire, it was not only a fresh addition to the calendar but also a significant step forward in opening up the game to all.

A special congratulations goes to Ryan Archer of Boundary Lakes, who etched his name into the history books as Hampshire’s first ever Disabled County Champion. Ryan’s victory was well-deserved and sets the benchmark for what promises to be a hugely exciting future for this championship.

Following the success of this inaugural event, Hampshire Golf is delighted to confirm plans to host the Disabled County Championships again next season. Building on the momentum, we are also exploring the introduction of county vs county disabled fixtures, giving more players the opportunity to compete at representative level and further embedding inclusivity into our county programme.

Hampshire Golf would like to thank Paultons Golf Centre, EDGA, the volunteers, and all the players who made this groundbreaking event possible. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to growing the championship in years to come, continuing to showcase the talent, spirit, and inclusivity of disabled golf.
